I’ve recently noticed that several magic companies overseas are knocking off my Evaporation trick. What gets me is that they are using illegally using ad copy, instructions, artwork and selling pirated versions of my DVD.

While I’d still be annoyed if they were knocking off my trick but using their own art, instructions, etc at least no one would be confused as to whether or not they are getting a legit product.  If you aren’t sure if you are here are a couple of easy ways to tell.

1. Sunny D Bottle:  If you are buying the trick from a magic dealer the gimmicked bottle will be a Sunny D bottle in either orange or red.  If it’s some other bottle and you didn’t get it from me as a custom build then it’s an illegal copy.

2. Bottle in English:  If your bottle’s wrapper is in a language other than English it’s a knock off.

Another thing that gets me is a lot of the time these aren’t even sold cheaper than what the retail for an authentic Evaporation trick costs.

Also keep in mind that if you buy an Evaporation trick that wasn’t made by me I will not provide any technical support!

I’ve always thought the Evaporation trick would make a great addition to a dove act. Here’s a little sequence that would run about a minute:

You show three handkerchiefs empty by shaking them out one at a time. Then bunch them up and then a bottle of milk appears. You do a few flair / juggling moves with the bottle. Finally you pour a bit of the milk into your fist and toss it out into the audience and mid air it turns into a dove!

The above sequence is pretty simple all it would require is the THIS Bottle Production and a Evaporation Bottle (milk version). Then you’d need to learn to do a few flair moves with the bottle and how to do a sleeve toss with a dove.

There’s a company in China that is selling a pirated copy of the DVD that comes with the Evaporation trick. They are selling the DVD only, without eh gimmick.

the DVD is designed to compliment the physical gimmick, and not as a standalone product. so there are no instructions on how to actually make the gimmick on the DVD. So if you buy an illegal copy of the DVD I WILL NOT provide any technical support.

If you buy an unauthorized copy The only thing I can do is ask you to return it to whoever you bought it from and ask for a full refund.

Someone recently asked me if they can use the Evaporation bottle without the label on it. The answer is yes!

Depending on what type of liquid you want to use you may have to change the color of the gimmick. If you have the DVD that came with your Evaporation trick then you know how to change it.

There is one small mod you’ll have to do to the liquid if you are using real SunnyD or Tang. Simply take a drop of red food coloring and add it to the liquid.
