Last spring I picked up a Porter Case. This is carry on luggage that converts to a luggage dolly. I haven’t needed to use it, until my recent trip to Canada to get on a cruise ship.

Here’s the case in its three positions:

After using it to get from home to the airport, the airport to the hotel, and the hotel to the cruise ship, I’ve decided I like it! Since they haven’t made these in a long time, the challenge will be to find another one as a backup.

I used them for years, and have worn a few out.
I even visited their headquarters in Indiana when they were still in business.
The last one I bought off ebay… the wheels disintegrated in the airport on it’s first trip.
I guess I need to figure out how to replace those wheels… any ideas?
The wheels don’t look too crazy to replace. A rod with a hole in it and a pin going through to lock it would be the easiest to make, but not the most elegant.
