Over the last few years I’ve started to really prefer the Sanada Gimmick over a thumb tip for stage use. I primarily use it for a bill switch and it allows me to not fold up the bill as small as with the a thumb tip. This makes it play a little bit bigger, but also I think looks more fair.
When I use something like a thumb tip or Sanada Gimmick, I try to stock up on them so that I always have them. I just had 10 arrive in the mail.
These are just for general use whenever I need them. Having access to a lot of them allows me to make some custom gimmicks with them like my tennis ball to confetti gimmick.
If there’s something you use, stock up on it, you never know when they’ll be temporarily or permanently unavailable.

I love the Sanada. I do the same as you , I buy multiple Sanadas and put them in storage.
I also really like the version of the Sanada gimmick that comes with Henry Evans’ Linking Rubber Bands. Henry’s Linking Rubber Bands is a great trick in itself , but worth it just to have his version of the Sanada gimmick, imo. (Henry’s version is made from a harder material than the ones we usually see, but it has it’s uses.)
Of course the regular Sanada’s can be easily trimmed and modified . See Jay Scott Berry’s lecture material (his Penguin Live video, for example) and some of the individual videos that Jay sells on his website about modifying and using Sanada gimmicks.
David!
Jay Scott Berry’s stuff is great! I’m not a fan of how he sells the Sanada stuff in sections. You end up with incomplete info and need to keep going back to buy. I ended up just buying a used DVD of his for a couple of bucks. His stuff is great!
I have a really change of a tennis ball to confetti that uses one of JSB’s gimmicks!
